How to build a website

A Genaya website is not code you maintain. It is a description - pages made of sections, and every section is wired to something real in Genaya: your services and prices, a booking page, a lead form, your published reviews, your hours and service areas, your tracked phone number, Live Chat, a deposit button. Genaya AI writes the description, Genaya renders the page, and the values on it are read live. A price you change in Items and Services changes on the site.

Pictures and motion are part of the build. Between choosing a look and writing the pages, Genaya picks real photos for the hero, the About section and a gallery from its keyed photo libraries - Pexels first, then Pixabay (up to 8 per build, matched to your industry and your services - your city is never part of a photo search, it only goes into the picture's alt text - resized and stored in the site's own image pool, never hotlinked; a photo the library itself does not describe as your subject is left out, and a section with no fitting photo simply goes without one), writes the alt text, and credits the photographer in the footer of every page ("Photos: <name> on Pexels", or Pixabay when that library answered). When a slot the libraries genuinely could not fill (no fitting photo, or no library key) is still empty - the home hero, the about picture, the closing banner or a service picture - Genaya AI fills it instead, but never when a library simply failed to answer that one time - that slot is just left empty, not handed to Genaya AI. Ask for AI pictures in so many words - "generate images", "AI pictures", "create images with AI" - and Genaya AI makes those pictures too - 20 credits each, at most 3 per build on the trial and 6 on every paid plan; the word "illustration" or "illustrated" on its own (what a design studio sells) never asks for one. Motion is on by default: the hero fades in, sections rise into place as you scroll, cards and buttons lift on hover, and a Bold or Night look gets a slower, livelier hero. A visitor whose device asks for reduced motion sees none of it.

  1. 1
    Check the permission

Websites is included in every plan and sits under Marketing -> Websites the moment it is available to your organization - nothing has to be switched on in Settings first. Members need the Websites permission under Marketing (view to open it, create to start one).

  2. 2
Start from the Websites home or from any chat

Open Marketing -> Websites. The home greets you - "Hi <your name>. What will you build next?" - over the real Genaya AI composer: type, talk, or drop a photo of your old site, and the message goes out with your company name, industry and city from the company record. Your recent websites sit under the composer (Recent websites and Templates), and Browse all opens the full gallery with search, filters and the recently deleted. Typing "build me a website" in any Genaya AI chat does exactly the same thing. A member who holds the Websites create permission but not Genaya AI access gets a New website button that opens the small sheet instead - the website name, what you do and for whom, the city or area, then Create and build - the same create, and the site page shows the pages as they are written.

The Websites home: the greeting, the composer, your recent websites under it. One sentence from you is enough.
  3. 3
    Add one sentence

Say what you do and what a visitor should do: "Chimney sweep in Dallas, 20 years, inspections, cleaning and repairs; people should book online and pay a deposit." Genaya AI proposes the site as a card: the pages it will write, which Genaya modules it will wire in (a booking page, a lead form, how many published reviews, your service areas, your number, chat, a deposit button) and the public link it reserved.

  4. 4
Press Build and watch the plan

The answer streams right under the composer, and the moment the site exists the site page opens with the Genaya AI side chat docked on that conversation. The chat shows a live checklist written for a business owner: reading your business, choosing a look, choosing pictures, writing each page, wiring your booking page and lead form, adding Privacy, Terms and Policies. Each finished page adds a small card. The draft is ready in about two minutes.

The build plan ticks page by page - the draft is usable the moment it ends.
  5. 5
    Watch it build

The moment you send, the editor opens with the Genaya AI side chat docked on the right, the page frame shows the site being built, and the pages appear as they are written. The chat ends with Open the site and Open in Websites plus suggestion chips ("Add a pricing calculator", "Add a photo gallery", "Run a campaign to this site"). Nothing is public yet - see the publish article when you are ready. That conversation stays the site's thread: Ask Genaya in the site's top bar always reopens your own conversation about this site - the one that built it - and never starts a new chat. The side chat also opens by itself every time you open the website, on that same conversation. Inside the builder the chat stays the website's own: it has no chat history, no New chat and no Delete there. For a separate chat, use the Genaya AI page. If Genaya AI asks you something first, or shows a plan to confirm, the page reads Nothing is built yet with Open the chat: answer or confirm there and the pages are written here. Delete draft drops an empty draft you do not want; one nobody builds is removed on its own after a day. While you work on a site, Genaya AI knows which page you have open, whether you are looking at the desktop, tablet or phone view and whether Edit is on - so "make this headline shorter" or "it looks cramped on the phone" is about the page in front of you, with no need to name it.

infoCost: the first build of a site is free for the first sites your plan includes (5 on the free trial with a card on file and 1 without, 1 on Individual, 3 on Pro, 10 on Business, 50 on Enterprise, counted for the life of your organization, so deleting a site does not bring a free build back). A free first build does not touch your Genaya AI credit budget, and free-library photos never cost anything on any build. The one exception is a Genaya AI picture (20 credits each, at most 3 on the trial and 6 on every paid plan), billed on the first build too. After your free first builds, the first build of a new site spends Genaya AI credits like any rebuild, and the Build card says so before you confirm. A rebuild spends ordinary Genaya AI credits (120 for the plan plus 30 per page), a chat edit 30 credits. Undo and Rewind never spend credits.
lightbulbA build never dies half way. If a page cannot be written, Genaya fills it with the starter page for your industry and marks it "Starter" on the card, so the draft is whole and you can ask for changes.
