The /ai page and the docked side chat share one starting point: a greeting, the composer, and a quiet strip under it for pulling in context before you even ask your first question. The strip only shows here - once a chat is running, it is gone.
A small Chat | Workspace switch sits at the top of the new chat page (top left in the side chat). Chat is the simple look: the greeting over a one-line box. When your words need more than a line, the box opens up on its own, with the words on top and the buttons under them. Workspace is the full look: the bigger box with the strip under it and the full list of suggested questions. Chat keeps two quick questions under the box, and each look greets you in its own words. Genaya remembers your pick for the page and the side chat, on every device you sign in on. On a keyboard, Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + L flips between the two. In Workspace, the project you pinned last is pinned again the next time you open the page, until you remove it. In Workspace the clouds behind the page turn purple, so you can tell the two apart at a glance. The same switch sits at the top of Home, over the Genaya AI box there, and flipping it on either page changes both.
The Genaya AI page opens in full screen: the app header and the side menu fold away so the chat takes the whole window. Press Exit full screen at the top right of the new chat page, or at the top of the conversations list on any Genaya AI page, to bring them back; press Full screen to fold them away again. The same button sits at the top right of an open conversation, and Esc leaves full screen when no menu or popup is open and you are not typing. Genaya remembers this choice too. While the page is full screen, a Back arrow in front of the Genaya AI name returns you to the page you came from.
A conversation you start from Workspace shows a panel on the right of the page chat. Outputs lists what Genaya made in that chat: records it created or changed, pictures and video clips. Sources lists what the chat used: your photos and files, the records you pinned, and the web pages an answer cited. Click a row to jump to it in the chat or open it. The + on Outputs types the opening words for something new into the box, and nothing is sent until you press send. The + on Sources adds a file to the chat: upload a photo or file, or pick one from Genaya Files. The + on Outputs attaches to the workspace: a project (the chat moves into it), one of your agents, a file from Genaya Files, or a record; what you attach stays listed under Outputs until you remove it with its x. A Waiting for you section appears while a card in the chat still needs your confirm, and Next offers what usually follows the thing Genaya just made. Close the panel with its x and bring it back with the panel button next to the three dots; Genaya remembers that too. The panel needs a wide window, so it stays out of the way on a tablet or a phone.
The strip shows in the Workspace look. Project, Agents, Files and Records sit on the left; Web search and Get the app sit on the right. None of them are required - they are there for when a chat needs more than a plain question.
Below the composer, the full page lists five suggested questions; the side chat lists four, and its list follows the page you are on rather than the page-independent list on /ai.
Add a photo or file with +, a drop, a paste, or the Files button on the strip. The tile shows at once; a large photo is made smaller in your browser before it goes up, and several files upload side by side, so each one is ready on its own. Then type what you want Genaya to do with it - create an expense from a receipt, read a model and serial number, describe what is in the picture.
Type / in the box to open the shortcuts menu. Its Search the web row writes "Search the web for " into the box with the cursor waiting at the end, ready for what you want to look up.
