What an assistant can do in Genaya: changes, confirmations and undo

Once you tick Prepare changes you confirm on the consent screen, the assistant you connected (ChatGPT, Claude, Claude Code or any other) can ask Genaya AI to *prepare* a change - a task, a client, a reschedule, an invoice draft - the same way the chat inside the app does. Nothing runs on its own. Every proposal comes back as a preview, and where you confirm it depends on what it is: small, reversible record changes in the chat; anything that leaves Genaya or cannot be undone on a Genaya page where you are signed in; and a short list of things never, from any assistant.

Confirmed in the chat: a task, a reschedule, a draft

  1. 1
    Ask

"Make a task for Eli to call the Johnsons tomorrow at 9." The assistant asks Genaya AI to prepare the change and shows you the preview - who, what, when - together with a fingerprint of exactly what you saw.

  2. 2
    Confirm

On a host that supports in-chat confirmations (Claude, VS Code, Gemini CLI) Genaya asks right there, with its own Confirm and Decline buttons. On every other host you say yes and the assistant confirms the preview by its fingerprint - a preview that changed in between is refused and prepared again, and a second confirmation of the same proposal replays the first receipt instead of running twice.

  3. 3
    The receipt

The change runs as you, with your permissions and the app's own checks, and the assistant shows the receipt. Only a receipt means it ran - an assistant that says "done" without one is wrong, and Genaya's instructions tell every assistant so.

  4. 4
    Undo, from anywhere

For 15 minutes the receipt carries Undo: ask the assistant, or open Settings > Genaya AI > Activity on the web or the phone and undo it there. A created record is removed, an edit is put back, a moved appointment returns to its time.

A record change: previewed, confirmed in the chat, undoable for 15 minutes.

Confirmed on a Genaya page: a text to a client

The thing that presses Confirm inside a chat is the same assistant that wrote the message, so a confirmation typed in the chat can never prove a person looked. Anything that leaves Genaya - and anything that cannot be undone - is confirmed on a Genaya page instead:

  1. 1
    The link

Ask for a text ("text Maria Lopez that we are running 20 minutes late") and the assistant answers with a link to app.genaya.com/connect/confirm/.... The link is signed, single-use, valid for 10 minutes and bound to you, your organization, this connection and this exact message. It works nowhere else and for nobody else, and the assistant is told to show it and stop.

  2. 2
    Sign in

Open it in your browser. You sign in with your normal Genaya login (two-factor and login verification apply). A link opened by another member is refused with "This link was made for another member"; a link opened in the wrong organization asks you to switch to the one it was made for.

  3. 3
    Check the preview

The page shows the real message: the recipient and their number as Genaya has them, the text word for word, the credits it costs and which assistant prepared it. It is a plain Genaya page - no assistant is on it.

The confirm page: the real preview, the step-up when one is required, one Approve.
  4. 4
The typed step-up, when one is required

A phone or email that differs from the record, an amount of $2,500 and up, or more than 25 recipients asks you to type a value - the last digits of the number, the amount, the count - before Approve unlocks. The typed value never passes through the assistant.

  5. 5
    Approve

One blue Approve sends it through the same route as the app - per-segment metering, messaging hours, STOP rules, the prepaid balance. Cancel is the quiet button next to it. You get a security email and a bell ("A text was confirmed from Claude"), and the assistant sees the outcome on its next call.

infoA link you do not open expires on its own after 10 minutes, and the proposal with it - ask again and the assistant mints a fresh one. A second Approve on the same link answers "This link was already used". A link belongs to one connection: one minted for your Claude connection cannot be opened through ChatGPT.

Undo

  • Record changes can be undone for 15 minutes after they ran, from any surface: the assistant that made them, Settings > Genaya AI > Activity on the web, or the phone.
  • A text or email that went out cannot be undone, and the assistant says so. A message held for messaging hours can still be withdrawn before it goes.
  • A rescheduled appointment goes back to its previous time; a created client, lead, task, reminder or draft is removed; a completed task is reopened; an edit is put back.

The assistant never presses Approve

Genaya's own policy - the same one that decides confirm cards in the app - treats "this came from an external assistant" as one more input. On that surface every proposal is at least a confirmation (an assistant can never run something automatically, even when your own Genaya AI is set to Auto), money and the other refused classes are refused outright with "Not available from external assistants. Open Genaya to do that.", and a proposal that needs a person's eyes goes to the page. The host's own approve prompt (ChatGPT's approve sheet, Claude's tool prompt) is a convenience on top, not the control: Genaya cannot see whether a host prompted, so it never relies on it.

The organization switch: Allow texts and emails

Texts and emails from assistants are a separate permission you tick on the consent screen (Prepare texts and emails you confirm on a Genaya page) and a separate switch for the organization: Settings > Integrations > Use Genaya from ChatGPT and Claude > Details > Allow texts and emails, for admins with Manage everyone's assistant connections. With the switch off no member is offered the texts-and-emails permission at consent, and an assistant that tries anyway is told the connection did not grant it. Turning it off later stops new sends at the very next call; existing connections keep working for everything else.

Details: the texts-and-emails switch sits next to the allowed assistants and the reconnect interval.

What it costs

Genaya AI credits are the one currency, and nothing costs more because it came through an assistant. A question is 10 credits - a chat question: data, lookup, summary, insight. An action message is 20 credits - a proposal that becomes a form or confirm card, debited when the card renders - the same as asking the chat in the app to prepare something. Confirm, cancel and undo are free. A text approved on the Genaya page is then metered like any text from the app, per segment, from your prepaid balance. All of it shows under Settings > Billing > Usage as Genaya AI credits, in the same count as the app. You see the credits used in Settings under usage after each turn.

Where you see what an assistant did

Settings > Genaya AI > Activity lists every change an assistant prepared, confirmed, canceled or undid, marked with its source - "via ChatGPT", "via Claude", "via Claude Code" or the app's name for Other - with the preview, the receipt and Undo while the window is open; members with Genaya AI audit access see the whole organization. The conversation itself is in your Genaya AI history like any chat, the Home page's Connected assistants widget counts connections and changes for the week on the web and the phone, and every send confirmed from the page raises a security email and a bell.

A send confirmed from the page arrives as an email and a bell, naming the assistant.
