Genaya works inside Claude - on the web, the desktop app and the phone - and inside Claude Code, the developer terminal. Both use the same Genaya connection rules as ChatGPT: you sign in with your normal Genaya login, pick one organization, and the assistant runs as you with your permissions. Claude Code connections show up as Claude Code in your connections list, so you can tell them apart.

Three steps in either Claude surface: add Genaya, sign in and allow, ask.

Claude (web, desktop or mobile)

  1. 1
    Open Connectors

In Claude open Customize, then Connectors.

  2. 2
    Add Genaya

Choose the plus button, then Add custom connector, name it Genaya, paste the Genaya address https://api.genaya.com/mcp and save. Free Claude accounts can add one custom connector. Once the Claude directory lists Genaya you can choose it there instead - the same connection either way.

  3. 3
    Connect and allow

Click Connect. Claude opens the Genaya consent screen, which names the assistant as Claude: sign in to Genaya, pick your organization and tap Allow.

  4. 4
    Ask

Ask your first question: "Find Maria Lopez and her open invoices."

lightbulbShortcut: open Claude with the Genaya address already filled inarrow_outward. It opens the same Add custom connector dialog with the name and address typed for you; you still click Connect and sign in to Genaya yourself.
infoOn Claude Team and Enterprise plans an Owner adds Genaya once under Organization settings; each member then opens Customize > Connectors, clicks Connect and signs in to Genaya as themselves. Only an Owner can add a connector on those plans, so a member who does not see Genaya there asks an Owner to add it. A connection is always personal - it runs as the member who allowed it, never as the Owner.

Claude Code (the terminal)

  1. 1
    Install the Genaya plugin

Inside Claude Code run /plugin marketplace add genaya-app/genaya-claude-plugins and then /plugin install genaya@genaya. The plugin adds the Genaya connection and the Genaya skills (invoices, schedule, clients and more) in one go. Both lines are printed on the Genaya page under Settings > Integrations > Use Genaya from ChatGPT and Claude, with copy buttons. Prefer the plain connection without the skills? Run claude mcp add --transport http genaya https://api.genaya.com/mcp instead.

  2. 2
    Sign in

Inside Claude Code type /mcp and choose genaya. Your browser opens the Genaya consent screen.

  3. 3
    Allow and go back

Pick your organization, tap Allow, and return to the terminal. Ask away: "What is my revenue this month?"

Where these chats show up in Genaya

Every question you ask through Claude or Claude Code is saved as a Genaya AI chat, like one asked in the app: it opens from Search chats on the web and on the phone, and it carries a small "via Claude" or "via Claude Code" mark next to its title. By default those chats are kept out of the Recent list (the Genaya AI rail, the side-chat history and the phone's chat list) so your own conversations stay on top. To list them too, turn on Show assistant chats in Recent under Settings > Genaya AI (the Chats from assistants card, on the web and on the phone; the small info glyph next to the heading explains it). The switch is yours alone and follows you across devices; it changes only what Recent lists, never what is saved.

What Claude can and cannot do

Claude sees only what you can see in Genaya, in the organization you picked, and asks Genaya AI on your behalf. When you tick Prepare changes you confirm on the consent screen it can also prepare changes - and nothing runs on its own. Ask Claude to move an appointment or make a task and it shows the preview and asks you to confirm right in the chat (Claude supports in-chat confirmations); the change can be undone for 15 minutes. Ask it to text a client or draft an invoice and it hands you a link to a Genaya page where you check the message and tap Approve, signed in. Claude can never move money or change billing, roles, bank or payout settings, from any surface - see "What an assistant can do in Genaya" in this section.

lightbulbClaude may ask you to approve a tool before it runs (unless you chose Always allow). Approving a Genaya tool never runs a change by itself: a record change still waits for your confirmation in the chat, and a text or anything about money waits on a Genaya page.
