Already have an LLC or a corporation - formed with someone else, or formed before your organization started using Genaya? Bring it onto State Compliance for free with the Set up compliance button, from Operations -> Business Filings -> State Compliance.

  1. 1
    Open Set up compliance

From Operations -> Business Filings -> State Compliance, click Set up compliance on the existing company.

  2. 2
    Enter the company's details

Pick LLC or Corporation, then add the legal name with the right suffix for that entity type, the state it was formed in, its formation date, and - for a corporation - its tax treatment (C Corporation or S Corporation).

Bring an existing LLC or corporation onto State Compliance - entity type, legal name, state, and formation date.
  3. 3
Add the EIN, if it already has one

Enter the existing EIN if the company already has one. Leave it blank if it does not - order one afterward with the Get an EIN action.

  4. 4
    Principal and mailing addresses

Enter the principal address (a street address, not a PO Box) and the mailing address.

  5. 5
    Members, managers, or officers

List every Member or Managing Member for an LLC, or every officer for a corporation, with one marked as the primary contact.

Every Member or Managing Member on an existing LLC, with one primary contact.
  6. 6
    Confirm authorization

Confirm you are authorized to manage this company's compliance in Genaya, then submit. Nothing is charged for this step.

What unlocks once the company is on file

Paid actions unlock the moment the company is on file.
  • Get an EIN - $149, if the company does not already have one.
  • Add registered agent - $199 per year, auto-renews to the card on file.
  • File annual report - $199 plus the state fee, where the state supports a one-click filing. If the company has no active registered agent in that state, you add one as part of the order - Genaya's ($199/year, its own first-year line) or your existing agent's details.
  • Register in another state - $249 plus the state fee. This also requires a registered agent in the new state, added the same way - Genaya's ($199/year, its own first-year line) or your existing agent's details.
infoA registered agent is never added silently. Whenever a filing needs one and the company does not already have an active agent in that state, Genaya asks you to choose - add Genaya's agent as its own line item, or enter your existing agent's details.
lightbulbThe formation date you enter drives the annual report due date and the 45- and 7-day compliance reminders, so it is worth getting it right the first time.
