Genaya AI can create and change things for you: an invoice, an appointment, a task, a client, an automation, an agent, a campaign draft. Autonomy is how much of that it does on its own. You pick your mode in the composer (the mode chip next to the + button, or type / and choose a mode), and an owner or admin can set a ceiling for the whole organization under Settings > Genaya AI. Your effective mode is the lower of the two.
On Settings > Genaya AI (web and phone) the Mode card shows the three choices with one line each, and the small info glyph next to a heading or a tile opens the full explanation. Running actions on this device picks between Open the form and fill it in (Genaya opens the real page and types it in) and Create it right from the card (Genaya creates it from the card, with Undo); an owner or admin sets the Ceiling for members, the most any member can choose. Money, messages, roles and outside assistants always ask first.
In Auto, a record you can undo - an invoice, an estimate, an appointment, a client, a lead, a task, a note, an expense, a call flow not yet attached to a number - is created the moment its details are complete, and the receipt in the chat carries Undo for 15 minutes. The same is true for an automation that only works inside your team: one that notifies team members, creates a task or adds a tag (a webhook posts your records to an outside address, so it always shows a card). Say "create an automation that notifies Sam and Dana when a new lead comes in" - or ask the same from the Automations page - and it is created without a card. When one detail is missing, Genaya asks for exactly that in the chat ("Who should get the update?") with your team as choices - answer with names, "everyone" for the whole team or "me", and a plain "yes" means you when the whole team is listed - and creates it when you answer; it never asks the same question twice. An agent that texts your team reaches at most 10 members: name more and the first 10 are kept, and the receipt says who was left off. The profile of a team member is edited by itself too - a new name, bio, address, color, the companies, appointment types and service areas they cover - with the same 15-minute Undo and a receipt in the chat. A role or permission change, an invite, a removal or deactivation, and anything about pay or commission keep their card in every mode, and a new phone number asks you to type it, as every phone change does.
A request with several steps - "create an invoice for Jordan Ellery for a service call and send it to them" - works the same way, one step at a time: Genaya creates the invoice first (or asks the one missing detail, right in the chat, never a pop-up window), then proposes the next step - here, sending it - as its own card. Sending a text or an email to a customer always shows a card, in every mode, so the card for the send step is the last thing you confirm. There is never a second box competing with the card; answering a question in the chat, or confirming the card on screen, is always the one thing to do next.
A card shows what will be created in plain words. An automation card is an ordered list of action cards - what each action does, who gets it, the number it sends from, the message with the values you can insert as chips - plus its conditions and its settings. An invoice card lists its line items with a total. A confirm card prints sentences such as "Notify team members: Sam R., Dana K." You never see code or curly brackets on a card; if you ever do, that is a bug - let us know.
A sentence that describes a recurring job - "every morning", "whenever a lead comes in", "30 minutes after an appointment is done", "remind clients about unpaid invoices", "make sure they update the notes" - becomes an agent: Genaya drafts its name, when it runs, the delay, what it may do, the messages it may send and its own autonomy, and you turn it on from the card. An agent creates the automations it needs on its first run. When you want a plain automation instead, say so - "create an automation that ...", "add a rule ...", "set up a workflow ..." or "automate ..." - or ask from the Automations page, and Genaya drafts an automation. It never asks you which of the two you meant.
